CUPW Local 630 represents close to 500 workers in Windsor/Essex. We are united in a struggle to improve our wages, benefits, health & safety and working conditions. Our National Union has traditionally been known as a militant, democratic and rank and file driven.
Historically we are the amalgamation of the traditional CUPW inside workers, the Letter Carriers Union of Canada and smaller postal unions and bargaining units which democratically voted to unite under the name of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. We later organized the rural route contractors into our union and they are referred to as the RSMC. In Windsor we also represent cleaners at WMPP.
