We are all taking stock of the depravity that colonialism has wreaked on our Indigenous brothers, sisters and comrades, with the latest revelations of mass graves of Indigenous children found on the grounds of residential schools throughout the country.
As a commitment to addressing this ongoing colonial legacy, CUPW and the Indigenous Working Group of the National Human Rights Committee encourage all CUPW members to order a t-shirt:
- to voice our solidarity with Indigenous people
- to signal our horror at the genocidal practices engaged by colonialism
- to press all our compatriots in taking seriously the Calls to Action that emanate from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
This short-sleeved 100% heavyweight cotton preshrunk t-shirt is made by union labour in Canada. The artwork on the t-shirt was created by Anishnabe artist, Giinw-lkwe.
You can order online here: https://bit.ly/3j4gBRJ
The cost is $26.75 per t-shirt.
Please act fast and get your order in by Friday, August 20th. Items will ship mid-September.
