Dear Sisters, Brothers, and Friends,
On June 11, CUPW received Arbitrator Elizabeth MacPherson’s decision regarding the collective agreements for our two bargaining units at Canada Post: Urban Operations and Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers. In her decision, she awarded both units well-deserved wage increases, going back to 2018.
Unfortunately, Canada Post has delayed the back payments. This is unacceptable. Workers have waited long enough and we can’t afford to wait until October to receive the wages we are entitled to. CUPW has spoken to management but they have refused to speed up the payment process.
It’s time for us to speak out. CUPW has created stickers for workers to wear to tell Canada Post:
No Back Pay Delay.
Pay Today!
CUPW will be printing and sending them to Locals, but due to COVID, delivery may be delayed, so we have included the sticker template with this letter. We encourage Locals to print the stickers on Avery Template # 22807.
We must speak up and be loud. We are tired of waiting. Enough is enough. Let’s all tell Canada Post:
No Back Pay Delay.
Pay Today!
In Solidarity,
Jean-Philippe Grenier
